The 203rd OCM Executive Council Meeting was held on Tuesday, 20 December 2022, at the PETRONAS Akademi Badminton Malaysia.

The Meeting was chaired by the President of OCM, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria and was graciously officiated by the newly appointed Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, Y.B. Hannah Yeoh.

In her keynote address, Y.B. Hannah Yeoh gave her assurance that there will be no political interference for the Olympic Movement in Malaysia. She has also emphasised that her Ministry will be on the same page with the OCM in charting the fortunes of Malaysian sports.

The key decisions made by the OCM Executive Council today were:

  1. The Tan Sri Alex Lee Athletes’ Education Fund will be managed solely by the family members of the late Tan Sri Alex Lee.
  2. The Establishment of the new “OCM Athletes’ Education Fund” which will cover a bigger scope and to be launched in 2023.
  3. The establishment of the “OCM East Malaysia Committee” to further promote the Olympic Movement in Sabah and Sarawak.

The President of MSAF also took his opportunity to raise the concern of pushing airsports to SEA games and also SUKMA especially in paragliding and racing drones.
