Another Silver for Malaysian Airsports as Paramotor Team Excels at SEA Games Thailand 2025
Thailand — The Malaysia Sports Aviation Federation (MSAF) proudly announces that Team Malaysia Paramotor has secured a Silver Medal at the SEA Games Thailand 2025, marking another significant achievement for Malaysian airsports at the regional level.
The Paramotor competition, held from 15 to 19 December 2025, featured intense regional participation and tested athletes across three core disciplines: Precision, Navigation, and Economic tasks. These disciplines require a high level of technical skill, flight planning, accuracy, decision-making, and consistency under competitive pressure.
The Malaysian Paramotor contingent was led by Coach and Team Leader Mr Rohaizi Md Hussin, supported by Team Manager Mr Nuhairi, and represented by the following athletes:
• Zul Majdi Saari
• Md Syukri Mustafa
• Mohammad Adib Alias
The team’s overall success was largely driven by their outstanding performance in the Navigation task, which became the primary contributing factor in securing the Silver Medal. Throughout the competition, the athletes demonstrated excellent flight planning, situational awareness, navigation accuracy, and disciplined execution, reflecting the technical strength and structured training approach adopted by the Malaysian team.
In addition to their Navigation performance, Team Malaysia Paramotor also delivered commendable and consistent results in the Precision and Economic tasks, showcasing balanced skill sets, strong teamwork, and adaptability when competing against experienced regional opponents.
Coach and Team Leader Mr Rohaizi Md Hussin expressed pride in the team’s achievement, stating that the Silver Medal result was the outcome of months of structured preparation, high discipline, and collective commitment by the athletes, coaching staff, and supporting organisations. He further noted that this achievement will serve as a strong motivation for future international competitions and the continued development of paramotor sports in Malaysia.
This Silver Medal adds to Malaysia’s overall success in airsports at the SEA Games Thailand 2025. Out of four airsports medal events contested, Malaysia successfully secured three Silver Medals and one Bronze Medal, demonstrating the nation’s growing competitiveness and consistency in both Paragliding and Paramotor disciplines.
In view of these proven results, MSAF hopes that the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) will support and advocate for Paragliding and Paramotor to be officially included as medal tally sports at the SEA Games 2027, which Malaysia will host. With strong competitive performances, growing regional participation, and established international governance, these two airsports have the potential to contribute meaningfully to the host nation’s medal tally while enriching the diversity of the Games.
MSAF congratulates Team Malaysia Paramotor on this proud achievement and extends its appreciation to all athletes, coaches, officials, and supporting bodies who contributed to this success.
